Del Oro’s football game on Thursday against East High will be played as scheduled.

The end of Friday’s game at Mira Monte left some question and concern over whether the Suns would be able to continue their season. However, Del Oro Athletic Director Shannon Secrist confirmed that Thursday’s non-league matchup at home against East was not being cancelled.

“Yes, there was no question about it,” Secrist said.

Some Suns players expressed their frustration with the results of the Mira Monte game, which was stopped by referees in the fourth quarter due to unsportsmanlike behavior from both teams.

“I feel very disappointed in the team,” senior Adrian Gracian said.

The Suns are 2-7 overall while the Blades come into the matchup with a 1-8 record after losing to West, 43-13, on Friday. A win against East gives Del Oro a chance at a spot in the playoffs.
