After weeks of tryouts and conditioning, Del Oro’s softball team is ready to take the field.
The rosters for frosh/soph, JV and varsity were recently posted on the softball team’s Instagram page(@sungirlssoftball) and taped onto varsity head coach Victor Garcia’s classroom door.

Said Coach Garcia: “I’m very optimistic that we can compete, given the schedule that we have. I have high hopes that we can make the playoffs.”
Garcia’s level of enthusiasm is shared by assistant coach Jojo Morales.
“I can’t wait to get the season started,” he said. “I’m looking forward to working with the new girls and the new team managers. We have a loaded crew with so much potential in all areas.”

A bigger team means more support is needed, and this year Coach Garcia has added three more team managers. This year’s team managers are Ambriz Morales, Jazmin Reyna, Jennifer Lopez, and Adriana Sanchez.
“I’m so excited to be a part of this family,” said Morales, the team’s social media and equipment manager. “Everyone has such a beautiful energy. Everyone has welcomed me and connected with me in so many ways.
“I can’t wait to follow these girls to their games and be able to support and help them out.”
One coaching change this year is the addition of Coach Xena Millan to lead the frosh/soph team.
“I’m so happy, I love Coach Millan. She is so sweet,” said freshman Rosa Espinoza Meza. “I’m so excited for the games and getting close with my team.”
