Twelve days after Del Oro wrestler Maria Mejia earned her 100th win, she had her hand raised again in victory for her 104th – but this time, she got to do it at home and on a night when she and the team’s other seniors were acknowledged. On Thursday, the Suns wrestling team hosted its first dual meet and senior night celebration against Foothill High.

Although the team scores showed Foothill picking up a definitive win over Del Oro, it was still an evening worthy of celebration for seniors Mejia, Alicia Hernandez-Carpinteyro, Rayane Correa, Aaliah Arredondo, Jayden Zepeda, Ervin Escalante, Manuel Barboza, and Vutha Chhim-Martinez as they were recognized prior to the start of the dual meet.
